Default Early starter on 95 bike Jackshaft problem

I have a 95 Softail Springer with starter problems. I replaced the starter with a chrome one I bought off e-bay. The new starter has the 1/4-20 threads in the output shaft where the old starter has the 10-32 threads. I didn't realize this until after the starter bolted on and I tried to put the jackshaft bolt in and it would not tighten. I found out about the 1/4-20 threads and purchased a new bolt washer and lockplate. Then I ran into the next problem. The 1/4-20 bolt will not go through the jackshaft. The older jackshafts that do have the 1/4 hole have nine teeth where my bike has the ten tooth jackshaft. Is there a replacement or aftermarket jackshaft or can I drill my stock one out to 1/4". Any ideas or help would be apperciated.
