Default Intermittent firing on one cylinder

After the engine warms up, I have an intermittent misfire, fires on one cylinder,,,sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for several minutes then will suddenly kick in again and run fine. Replaced the plug wires, didnt help. Have dual coil (Compufire) single fire 107 c.i. TP engine, Mikuni carb. Any ideas?
Thanks,
zen

Try a new plug first,if still there Id call compufire about returning their parts.Make sure all your connections are tight first.

HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM ON MY 04 NIGHT TRAIN AFTER I MADE SOME NEON PLUG WIRES FOR IT. THE WIRE CONNECTIONS GOING INTO THE COIL WERE LOOSE AND WOULD WORK THERE WAY OUT. EXPANDED THEM A LITTLE WITH A PAIR OF NEEDLE NOSE PLIRES AND USED SOME DI-ELECTRIC GREASE AND THE PROBLEM VANISHED.

i had the same problem on my 97 softail i replaced the plugs ,the wires, the coil, it turned out to be the cam pickup sensor. i have the crane hi 4 ignition in my bike. if you have a stock cam pickup sensor in your bike you can test it two diff. ways one way to test it is to start your bike and put a hair dryer on the sensor to heat it up if the bike drops to one cylineder the pickup is the problem. or the other way to test it is to start the bike and spray contact cleaner on the sensor. if the pickup is bad the bike will stall. note these tests are only for the stock pickup. not for aftermarket pickups. good luck.
