Ok so I am trying to rebuild an '02 Deuce. I ordered a main wiring harness from eBay that was described as from an '01 carb'ed softail. When I got the harness it had a tag on it that says it was from an '01 FLSTC.
HOWEVER, it came with an ignition module with an HD sticker that says 32478-04A. When I did a search on this part number, it looks like it is from an '04 model carbed bike...
So, my question to the experts is, will an '04 main wiring harness (70216-04) work on an '01 bike. My parts manual says the correct main wiring harness for my bike is 70216-01. Basically, what's the difference between 70216-01 and 70216-04 main wiring harnesses, and can they be used interchangeably? Thanks guys.
