91 softail keeps fouling plugs
 

The third time in 2 weeks. I replace both plugs and it rides great for a day or so... Then its starts backfiring and running rough. I have also replaced the wires and coil. The plugs come out looking dark and sooty. Thanks for any advice.

Did you manage to sort your problem out?? I have the same problem happening with my ride. I have adjusted the float in my carb and replaced the seals on my manifold. I still have the problem with my plugs fouling. I have re-jetted and adjusted the idle several times, nothing seems to last for long. My enricher cable seems to be working fine. I have thought about replacing the coil but was hoping to see if you found a solution that worked first.

Hi Gallen1. Have you done a CCP check yet and how many miles on the motor??
Sounds like a carb prob but could be low comp due to high milage. Black sooty plugs tend to be carb, but if oily could be worn rings !!
