All the best,

Buy new replacement parts - don’t mess around
My recommendation is to buy new replacement parts. Takes about an hour with simple tools.

166-1298 EFI FUEL LINE $43.69
166-1331 CHECK VALVE $33.95
Empty the tank of fuel.
Push up on the the check value collar to separate the fuel line from the check value quick connect.
Remove the seat.
Remove the speedometer console 3 bolt Allen head
Remove the tank top plate and seal 10 bolts Torx
Slide the fuel pump assembly forward
Pinch the slide locks on the rear and pull the hose and nozzle fitting back and out.
Unscrew the 7/8ths hex nut on the check value on the outside of the tank until it is all the way out
Remove the check value assembly
Insert the new check value assembly nozzle end through the bottom of the tank up to the fuel pump assembly.
Tighten the 7/8ths check value nut tight against the bottom of the tank
Insert the nozzle assembly into the rear of the fuel pump assembly until it clicks into the slide locks
Carefully replace the top plate and seal. Align the plate, seal and bolt holes and start all 10 bolts before tightening all 10.
Replace console and seat.
Reach up into the cavity above the engine head to compress the clip collar on the fuel line to release it from the fuel input pipe.
Insert the new fuel line clip collar first over the fuel input line until it seats and press the back side of the clip until it clicks in place.
Now slide up the collar of the check value and insert the elbow end of the fuel line into the bottom of the check value and release the collar.
