Default Ignition Timing Map for Thunder Heart Stand Alone Ignition

Does anyone have a good ignition timing map file for the T-H Stand Alone Ignition system? I just uploaded the software and it appears that it does not come with any pre-defined maps. I'd like to start with a pre-defined map and then tweak it.

Thanks,
D

I was able to read the current timing maps from the bike. See attached.

Anyone see anything that I should change?

FWIW, I have a 96ciB on a softail frame.

Thanks!

Need to know more about you engine build. Cam, exhaust, throttle body, head work and so on.

Stay away from the "Timing vs Engine Speed Page". Will explain later.

Its a stock 96ciB H-D motor built in 2011. Mikuni HSR42 carb with the .160 main jet. No head work..just stock. I have a two into one vance and hines exhaust.

Sorry brother....

After I read this post, I had to take a second look at your original post. Thought you were using TMax EFI. No experience with the stand alone ignition.

FWIW, I did look a map for a stock 96 with 2 into exhaust and it was running slightly more timing (31 deg after 4000 rpm).

Yeah, when I rebuilt this bike I decided to go carb instead efi....the problem that I'm having is that the motor stutters a little when initially giving it gas. It only happens when the bike is in gear (not while idling in neutral). I thought I might have air leaks, but I did the WD-40-around-the-manifold check and I could not find any air leaks. I experimented with changing the main jets, it didn't change anything. My next fix attempt was to mess with the needle jets. I rebuilt this bike mostly as a learning exercise...so I'd like to figure this problem out myself...versus taking it in and paying someone to fix it.

Thanks for the info about the 31 deg timing after 4000rpm. I might change that and see what effect it has!

Did you defined map and write to the module success? I just put my 11's Nightster EFI to Carb with T-H Stand Alone Ignition EA-5012. I try to define the map, but it go back to the basic map after Power switch. Any idea why this happened?

Thanks.
