Strap on gas tank
I am getting ideas for building a 69 ironhead chopper. I really like the look of the old coffin gas tanks. One I am looking at is held on by straps around the frame's backbone rather than drilling through the frame. Has anyone had experience with these? Pro's or con's? Are they held tight so they dont slip side to side? Thanks in advance.

There are a few simple ways to rubber mount the fuel tank. One is to put a layer of inner tube between the tank and the frame. I use these to rubber mount my tank, ~3/16" thick slices of 5/16" ID fuel line ...
