So an old dear friend of mine gave me his 71 sportster , as a gift. I want to build it up into a bob. But I'm having issues. Once and a while the bike will get stuck in her and takes some rocking to change gears. Also nuetral is difficult to find

 

First thing to try is to check the clutch adjustment. Note first that the IronHead clutch adjustment is different from most other motorcycles ...

Congrats on your "gift". I know you can't post pics yet, but please do as soon as you can. Depending on the shape of your old Ironhead, I may try to talk you out of "Bobbing" it, lol.
