50,000 miles and counting. Other than replacing a cracked piston about 20 years ago and one new clutch, no big problems on the old Ironhead so far.

Yes, maintain the old machines properly and don't abuse them and they can be very dependable motorcycles. I'd guess that most Ironhead problems are caused by their owners, either past or present. I'm the second owner of mine, and other than being parked outside the first 7 years of its life and being pretty rusty, it was in good condition with low mileage when I bought it.
