Default 76 valve seats

I have these heads that I bought with a bunch of other stuff and the valves were sunk into the heads bad. So I took out the valves, and guides. Now I'm looking at these and I cant even tell if there was a seat in it. Do these heads need to be machined then the replacement seats put in or should I be able to see a difference in the head material and the seat material if the head has never been touched before

The original IronHead valve seats were ground right into the cast iron. You can have new valve seats installed. This has been commonly done. I would look for a machine shop that regularly works on vintage engines. Perhaps contact a local vintage auto or motorcycle club.
