Default 1972 Sportster

I've decided that I'm not skilled enough for an ElectraGlide, or RoadGlide or anything that big, yet. I do have my eye on a 1972 sportster. I used to own a 69 Ironhead, and I miss it. Kickstart only. It's pretty dusty, but it looks to be all there. What, if anything< would it be good to check? I'm heading up tomorrow to look at it.

Search Google for early sportster VIN numbers. Ensure that you know what is original and what is not. Do not even consider one that is not original. If it looks original check it out before you lay down the cash. One forum member several years ago, after refurbishing it for a few years and a lot of money, had it confiscated and returned to the original owner.

I would ask the seller to start it. If it starts and runs I would buy it.

Thanks! I'll definitely check the numbers. The seller has the title, so he says.
