Default S&S Super E questions

Finally getting some seat time & now I'm ready to tackle the midrange problems. Anyone know what intermediate jets come on one? Didn't know if they were mostly the same, just throwing it out there hoping I don't have to rip into the carb a dozen times to start getting close.

I had the same question a while ago so I call them and told them what year and engine it is and they were very helpfull. You can also find a .pdf manual for it on the site.

You can change the jets while it is still on the bike. Not hard to do.

I have the S&S manual on .pdf at home. If you still don't have one by next week (I am on vacation until next Tuesday) shoot me a PM and I will e-mail it to you.

I just pulled the intermediate jet & it's a .028, which from the manual says is good. I'm going out to check the accelerator pump & see how far out it is. My bet is I need to adjust the pump leaner as I hate to rejet it & go too lean.

I went to a local repair shop (non-dealer) & got a LOT of help. Bought a .265" intermediate jet & was told it should make all the difference. My accelerator pump is 1 3/4 turns out & might need a tad more but it's starting to drizzle...

They say it be out only about 1/2 to 5/8 turn out. They say that is raw fuel being thrown into the intake manifold and not being burn up.

I read the same thing but mine falls flat on it's face if it is out less than 1 1/2. I'm gonna say the jury is still out until I actually ride it... eventually. Darned rain! [:@]

I set my accel pump while running, keep adjusting up or down until it revs up with no missing when you give it full throttle. Each bike is different and if you have raw fuel in the carb it will stumble when you twist the wick. You should end up being able to grab a hand full of throttle and it revs up fast and smoothly. Good Luck!
