23t Drive sprocket

23t Drive sprocket
I had ordered a 22t sprocket for my 84 XLX, it seemed so low geared I assumed that it had a 21 on it. When my sprocket arrived and I took the bike apart to install it, it already had a 22t on it. I sent the 22 back and ordered a 23t. So now the bike has a 23/47 setup. It works great. Much smoother at freeway speeds, more range through the gears, no problem with taking off from a stop or scooting through the hills. I did have to do a little grinding on the sprocket cover mount directly behind the sprocket, otherwise no problems. Since the rear exhaust had to come off I took the opportunity to install a set of original black XLX headers I had. The bike is about 99% original Harley XLX, a set of the original black mirrors should finish it.

I have a 23/49 setup on my '83 XLX. I like the freeway rpm, but I live on a mountain and I find myself having to use 3rd gear more than I like when going up the steeper, twisty sections.
Anyway, post a pic of your '84. I like to see nice, stock examples. Mine's not stock, but it isn't too far off. Plus, I have the original solo seat, fenders, rear shocks, black handlebars, and black exhaust.
