Got some fender trim parts in today for my 1940 Knucklehead we've started on. Kinda cool when you get a 1940 part in its original box.......

you must be using 8 1/2 or more using a VOES

if they are 46 jugs I would re think the compression

Nope, re pop jugs, accel electronic advance distributor, not sure how its gonna work out, experimental at this stage.....this one is pretty much reproduction sans cases and heads. frame, fork and most everything reproduction. just trying things to see how it goes. good eye though. Have you played with this setup?

we did a few strokers in the past and one couple years back, the deal way back was pan cylinders with the one hole added to the heads so the shrapnel did not take out your legs

the voes does work in controlling the low speed spark knocking and does it well, and have had good and bad luck with that distributor ( make a point of knowing your total advance is not too much and knuckles like advance to start ) - so we went after that in the initial setting to total advance and left the initial with more and the total with less because of the gas

in the end it started easy and ran with out the extra heat < the alcohol in the fuel burns much faster so less total becomes the deal - the knock is when the fuel charge runs out before the compression stroke is completed and goes totally lean

the other is more like what we do today in the shop I have a 41 I am restoring still collecting parts -- good luck dude

Thanks for the words of wisdom, what issues did you have with the distributor?

some started no problem some of them you needed a hill almost every time - we believed it was in the trigger - some had great slow speed spark some did not - and buying a new trigger was pot luck if it changed at all

believe it or not the china centrifugal distributer ( with the bearing unit conversion ) and the eds - e 2000 magnet trigger is spot on all the time < but it gets pricy getting to that end

I ran an E 2000 set up in my 32 VL cannonball bike, you're right, it ran flawlessly, early on I had an issue with the rotor coming apart but a dab of super glue fixed that. I will keep that in mind, thanks for the tip.
