Changing '46 foot shift to tank shift--does it need a different drum?

 

and the lid if your using the tank gate - if its a bobber just a lever on the ratchet top of the trans is what is used

 

Lets back up just a second, and please post some pictures.

How was the foot shift setup? Ratchet top on the transmission or an early B&H shifter type gizmo. Though the second option is unlikely, more information might get you more responses.
