LiveWire who’s buying one? Or, was going to buy one?

Although for the same price as the Livewire you could buy any of several electric cars with the same or greater range, those cars would qualify for the $7,500 tax rebate and have lots of nice creature comforts like heat, A/C, power windows, stereo, ect.....
To be fair I didn't say new full size pickup. but still far too much money for something that is going to be considered a novelty in the market

$30K when you can buy a Zero for a 1/3rd less and get twice the range, I'll pass. For $30K it should be a bagger.

I am thinking Prius drivers will want one to complete the set.

Under-powered, under-featured, and 'way overpriced considering what else is out there in the EV motorcycle market (Energica and Zero come to mind). I can get one of these:

https://www.energicamotor.com/energi...ic-motorcycle/

Yes, a hair less range with the stock battery pack, but faster charging time, luggage bags, lots of options, and $8K less MSRP. And I didn't even check the Zero, another hot bike with great specs. Other than the "branding" why would anyone buy a Livewire? Both Energica and Zero are growing companies with good financials and an expanding dealer network-they're not going anywhere soon, and it seems that they're going to eat the MoCo's lunch. Time will tell...

I'm in the market for an e-Bike in the next 12 months, but I can guarantee it won't be a Harley-sorry, MoCo.

Yup, a lighter, faster accelerating, higher top end, longer range, more featured Zero is $19K. Really. And, stunningly, Zero just announced a brand new model that will debut in August, when Harley is just starting to "take deposits" on the Livewire.

Except Prius drivers wouldn't be caught dead in a Harley dealership. And that's the kicker...HD management is counting on bringing in new Harley customers from a customer group that wants no part of Harley.

If greenie, eco-friendly, environment friendly, low-carbon-footprint millennials want an electric motorcycle, they're gonna buy a Zero.

I think we are in agreement.

Although there is a company selling an electric bicycle for $40,000, so they must think someone wants the overpriced toys.

I like the way it looks but it's certainly not for me.

I had already softened up the better half to expect a new electric bike in the garage. After seeing the stats and price, no more softening will be needed, gonna pass.

If it was 20 grand and went 170 miles on a charge....I'd pick one up tomorrow.

Out here in Cali, the electric motorcycles already released get just a 900 rebate from the state. Not sure about the Fed.
