New LRS Flattop on Ultra Limited
I want to do a quick shout out to LRS for the new 11" Flattop for our 2017 Ultra Limited.
I talked to Billy at LRS regarding the best windshield to prevent wind buffeting on my wife while at highway speeds. He recommended the Flattop. I placed the order on the phone for the 11" Light Tint Flattop. That was on Tuesday. On Thursday, the windshield arrived in time for a Saturday planned excursion into the Sacramento mountains around the Ruidoso area.
I must say the windshield completely eliminated any wind buffeting on the highway. It provided a very nice bubble of quiet air around my wife and me. While running 80 mph, I placed my hand over the top of the windshield. The airflow was pretty much straight up and over the top of both us.
On the ride back to El Paso late in the afternoon, we ran into severe cross winds and a dust storm. It made for an interesting hour of riding. Don't expect this windshield, or any other for that matter, to eliminate buffeting from cross winds.
I highly recommend LRS and their Flattop windshields to reduce wind buffeting at highway speeds.

It's a great windshield. My biggest complaint is it really reduces the airflow into the vents of my full face helmet. We recently did 1500 miles on a ride to the Grand Canyon. Both my wife and I were nicely protected from buffeting. We spent 12 hours on the bike travelling in each direction. Other than being ready to get out of the saddle, we arrived with none of the fatigue normally associated with dealing with high winds for extended periods. Good luck.
