Thanks for the reply and your impression on the Ultra. Glad to hear you are happy with the HD. I'll be following in your footsteps. I ordered a 2018 Ultra (Anniversary edition). It's expected to arrive right after New Years. Also like you, I expect it to sit idle for a couple of months before the snow melts. I live in the mountains of southwestern Colorado, and winter riding is seldom an option.

    Take care.

    Hi Imar,
Just read your post from 2015 stating you wanted a new Ultra. Much of your bio matches mine (e.g., riding most makes since the early 70's, owned a BMW R1200 (mine is a '07 R1200R), in the market for a new Ultra (although I'm a couple of years behind).
Since you're now an "Elite HDF Member", I can only surmise that you made the plunge. I'm curious how you like your HD, if it's an Ultra, and if you would do it again. Frankly, I'm torn between a 2018 Ultra and a 2018 BMW K1600 Grand American (that will be coming out later this year). I've rented a 2017 Ultra twice (once in California and once in Arizona) and really, really like it. Although, it has a few things that I scratch my head over (i.e., hard to find neutral, shifting to first from neutral sounds like two pans being slammed together). Since you're a previous BMW owner, would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks for any advice you're willing to pass along.

Good day, I am a new member that is interested in purchasing a new 2015 or 2016 Ultra LTD. I have been riding since 1973 and I have ridden most makes; both sport and touring bikes. My last bike was a 2009 BMW R1200RT which I sold last week. My previous bike was a 2003 Goldwing.
I have never owned a Harley and for the last couple years, in terms of bikes, purchasing a Harley is about all I can think of.
I would be interested in your thoughts, suggestions, comments etc.
