114 big bore kit ordered
#11
My original plan was to finally purchase a CVO, it is cheaper to buy the CVO if you start adding up everything like stereo, forks, wheels, upgrades. I think i am over the price of what a CVO would have cost. However, everything is going to be exactly what i want, only thing i can't purchase is the remote control locking saddlebags. Of course i will never have resale or value of CVO, but my registration won't cost as much either.

the difference is close to 13000 and yes it's got all the goodies already on it but it's not the goodies I'd want. I'd rather make mine with what I want instead of what the Moco wants it to look like.

The stage III 114" kit the dealer is installing on my bike is nothing but cylinders, pistons, valve springs and a cam. It's all bolt on.

Yes, that's the upgrade for the 107. This kit when properly tuned will make more Toque and HP than a stock CVO 114. We have dyno'ed them both and the extra compression (11:1) in the big bore kit and cam make the difference.

I've got a stupid question regarding the increased power from the kit. Does the rear tire have sufficient traction to utilize the extra power during launch? Most of the touring bikes have a somewhat narrow rear tire compared to say a Breakout or Fatboy for example.
I realize the extra power is great for passing, or when riding two up etc but was curious if it was too much for the back tire to use at launch.

I believe all touring bikes now have an 180 rear tire size.
Although my Rig is a Twin cam with a built 117" motor, but I can launch like a normal stock bike.
IF and WHEN I want to, I can lay rubber like crazy! (But tires are expensive and do this often like my other friends do)

That's good to know thanks, I was worried it was less. Now I feel better doing the kit. If anyone is interested I don't have the part number but I had the dealer look up and you can buy the 114 emblem that goes on the engine. They looked it up on a current Cvo and it's $25 each so $50 for the two emblems, I don't think they come with the kit, unless someone else has seen yet. I was waiting to buy them.
