FP3's here but.....

The FP3 automatically saves your stock map the first time you fire it up. It will check the software as well to update it. I've had 4 of these so far, still have two in my garage. Like most flash devices they are married to the bike once you flash it so I'll need to buy another. If you read all the info available on the FP3 they seem to lean you away from auto tuning even though it is available. I think they are still perfecting that process. I tried to auto tune my 117 dyna after install and it ran good but the idle was erratic. I ended up going with a pro tuner using Techno Research VCI

Depends on what extent you have modified your bike. My Dyna had the 117 kit installed which meant, throttle body, cams, displacement etc etc. Even though I dialed that stuff in the FP3 and tried auto tune for several trips, it still would not idle properly. I called V&H about it. They asked me to send them the map that was autotuned. They looked at it and then told me to use the OTC map that was available in the FP3 and ignore auto tuning the bike, they admitted there are some problems with the auto tune procedures. The bike still did not idle properly. I then took it to a local tuner and had the Techno Research system installed and it runs and idles fantastic now.
