Did you toke for a hour or it took a hour

1st service was free w/ full synthetic oil (that was part of the deal) however they did a sloppy job...i.e.. oily finger prints and run off from the filter change... the next one is on me as I'll be doing it.

I'll do mine myself, less than $100 for HD fluids, filter and o rings. $375 at dealer.
I can check belt tension and few other things per service schedule.

Just paid $329 at the Pigeon Forge Harley dealer for my 1000 mile service. Took me in when they opened up without an appointment so I could continue on with my trip. I normally do all my servicing including the first but it wasn't practical this time.

Dealer throws the 1K free on every new bike purchase.

From that point on I do all my own.

I just did the 5K myself and materials were under $40 dollars. That was with Rotella T6 full syn and a H-D filter.

The filter is now mounted just a bit higher and it was easier to get the tool on and rotate.

The oil pan takes 4.25 to come to the full mark. In the service manual it states 4.5 capacity but of course some is still in the cooler and lines. I put four quarts in and it showed two marks below full. Went for a ride and it was at the bottom of the marks which takes a pint to fill. On the 17's dip stick the marks are half the length of previous years. So when at the bottom it is not a quart like the TC's.

The primary was the same 38 ounces.
