I am glad you pointed that out as I will be sure to find out how ot works when signing up for it. I know on a snowmobile it starts after the factory but must be different on a Harley. Going to find out from the dealer.

On my 2012, I had a stage II (SE air cleaner, SE slip-ons, SE 255 cams, and HD download tune), HD LED turn signals, HD GPS/interface, and iPod harness all installed at time of delivery... They were covered under my basic 2 year warranty...

That's important because the 2017 M8 stage I, II, & III kits are emissions legal, therefore they would be covered under the basic factory warranty if purchased/installed by dealer within 30 days of delivery....
Actually Harley has extended the time period for street legal upgrades on 2017 bikes. If you have a street legal upgrade installed, even the new Stage 3 within 60 days of purchasing the bike, the upgrade is covered under the 2 yr. factory warranty PLUS the entire coverage of the ESP. If you install a street legal performance upgrade after the first 60 days of ownership the upgrade is only warrantied for 1 year.

I'm wanting to in stall the 114" in my bike, however I don't want the selling dealer to do the install. Can I get another dealer to install the 114, and keep the two year warranty in tact? It'll be within 60 days ownership.

Yep, I'm buying my bike at a different dealer from the local one that's doing the install. I'll have the bike broken in with over 1000 miles and then do the 117 stage 3 upgrade on a '17 CVO Limited sometime in the first 60 days. Same dealership that I'm buying my ESP from. I've had my service done at this dealership for many years.

Cool... thanks for the correction. I thought it was 30 days, but that was over 4 years ago...

60 days is a good time frame to ride the bike, decide whether or not to do the upgrade, and then get it done....

HD will probably sell a bunch more upgrade kits with the ability to cover them under both basic & extended warranties.... and the fact that they are EPA compliant, suggests they are not radical mods that will over stress the engine...

Can't wait for Spring 2018, that's when I decided I'd get an M8 for my garage...!
