Weak Rineharts

Weak Rineharts
I recently bought a 2017 Road Glide Ultra and had the dealer install a heavy breather and Rinehart slip ons. They weren't able to install the tuner and dyno it because they said I have to wait until I put 1,000 miles on it. At first startup I did notice a deeper sound but when I get it on the road it just doesn't have any bark. My past harley's have had V&H, Hooker, and Bub7's, all sounded better than these. Is it because it hasn't been dyno'd, or because I have stock headers with the cats, or did Rinehart tame down their mufflers?

Get rid of the cat and your exhaust will come to life. But you'll run the risk of powertrain warranty problems. We have yet to see how a powertrain claim is handled after the EPA settlement.

I have a M8 Twin Cooled 107 and have been patiently waiting for the exhaust manufactures to get something to market. Rinehart was one of the top manufactures on my list. I am interested in the full pipe and muffler so i hope your dissappointment in sound lies in the factory header pipe with cat.

As long as you have the stock headers you will most likely not find what you are looking for in sound by just changing the slip ons.
However, sine the EPA thing, 2017's will most likely be closely scrutinized if modified out of the EPA compliant exhaust system.
So I'd probably hold off on modifying the exhaust until after your warranty period.

the only change to the rineharts is the header connection diameter on the primary side. Its pretty much the exact same slip on. You need a head pipe without cats to get what you are looking for. I am more than happy with my rineharts. I like a little louder and a lot of base. I get that's not for everyone. from what I understand, the factory is not allowed to remove the cat from any pipe they make, that does not include some of the after market companies. But then again you will void your powertrain warrantee.

Find (as I did) an indy that is Harley approved for service and warranty work. My guy does mods, and makes sure Harley covers the warranty work when needed.
