Good Times

67 miles. Only had it for 2 days now. I might get flamed, but I'm also a sportbike guy. I keep reading these threads about the M8 and how powerful they are. I won't argue that point, but I'm in no way impressed either. It's just perspective though. Throw a leg over a bike that weighs 430 pounds but has 90ft/lb of torque and 180HP..... and run it to the redline in 3rd. It'll change your perspective too.

I'm don't favor one or the other. Their entirely different animals. I bought the FLHX because a 999cc superbike isn't the right tool for the street. Just like I wouldn't take my HD on a race track. Both are exceptional at what they're built for. The 67 miles I've put on it so far have been some of the best street miles I've had. Cruise control on a motorcycle? OMG, I had no idea how much I would like that. Stereo on a bike? Nothing like cruising with your wife and jammin to some classic rock. Her purse in the hard bag instead of all her **** in my pockets? Worth every penny to switch to a touring bike!

I have a blue 2017 Street Glide Special. I had traded from a 2009 to 2014 and now the M8. put 104k on the 09, then 55k on the 14. My job changed, can only ride two weekends a month now. I am a HOG member, the chapter rides bot Sat and Sun each week and one overnight a month. Then we take 4 day weekends or more to go to the mountains or the keys. Usually put on about 20k a year. When the M8 came out, I just wanted one! with the job change if figure now is the time to buy the new bike. Great bike, nice ride, good smooth power! will be 2 years old in Sept and now has 22k miles. Friend gave me his CVO mufflers, I installed a HD street tuner with the stage one map, very nice! Great decision. Will never look back, you cant look back!
