Would love to give one of these 3rd party upgrades a shot, but just don't have the b*lls to kiss that warranty goodby, especially with a first gen. engine. Besides, my HD stage II on top of an already heaft 107 provides all the power I need... at least until the warranty expires.

So keep developing guys, I'll come around sooner or later.

As with any upgraded camshaft its all about give and take, you want bragging rights HP claims, you design the camshaft one way, if you want good low RPM Torque you design it another. The idea is to pick the proper balance for what the intended purpose is going to be. This camshaft is designed to give great low to mid RPM range performance while still being able to meet the emissions requirements. This camshaft is for most of the people that ride a Touring model bike, that are only looking for a bolt in camshaft without having to have other supporting modifications. There is NO reason that you cannot have performance and still be emission compliant these days. Look at any of the late model 500+ HP cars and trucks these days from the factory. Great fuel economy, Great Power and Torque and meet current world wide emissions standards. No longer is the USA the hardest Emissions standards to meet for motorcycles.

We are also developing and testing a few more camshaft designs for more in the mid to upper RPM range that we hope will be emissions compliant as well. So for those that want to run the engines in the higher RPM range more often, there will be others for you too.

Steve, when will you be selling this camshaft? Is it only available after the certification is complete?

Currently these camshaft are in the production phase. When they are ready, they will be sold through our dealer network, so they will be the first to know. Wide Open Cycles would be the best one to stay in touch with about getting one.

Just curious, but what does the addition of this cam do to MPGs? My thoughts are a more efficient engine also makes good power.

With a proper tune you shouldn't see any decrease in MPG with an upgrade like this. At least not a significant amount. The bike doesn't have to work near as hard to achieve normal riding goals.

Damn, Chad, wish I still lived in VA... you'd had a 114 at your disposal. Keep up the great work!

How do you think this cam will do in the CVO 114? Sure looks good in the 107, especially compared to the HD offering? I'm sure a good head pipe will help it make even better numbers correct?

It ruins the MPG for awhile , all the new found Torque and Hp is fun to play with! Then once you quit twisting the throttle and go back to normal riding it's a little better than stock in my testing. While I would love to tell you your going to gain a bunch of MPG, it's all in how you ride the bike.

Here is a little Air Filter test data on the three variations that HD makes for the new M8. As you can see they each vary a few HP and a few Ft Lbs of torque. This testing was done using a 107 with a Stage III 114 kit installed. Each air cleaner kit was installed tuned and tested on the same day with the same tank of fuel. Results are SAE corrected and runs made in 5th gear. The Heavy Breath did best for low to mid RPM torque but the High Flow won the HP games at higher RPM's.

V= Ventilator Kit
HF= High Flow Kit
HB= Heavy Breather Kit
