Reviewer's strange observations about the M8
Two statements I find strange:
1) Catalytic converter has been removed. News to me. Really? 2) You can cruise at 80MH in 4th gear. Interesting. M8 owners chime in....... http://www.detroitnews.com/story/bus...eart/95845620/ |
I didn;t see either of those in the linked article ( pretty much rewriting the press release with some color throw in)
is that the right link? I know the cat has been moved away from the rt ankle and 80 in 4th is possible- but most will select a higher gear Mike |

The cat has been moved further back in the pipe, it's still there.
Cruise at 80 in 4th? Why would one do that? |
Me neither and I read it right through. Did those things get somewhere else?
|
I read that in the LA Times last week.
I've read other reviews by that writer which made sense- I think he suffered from some editing which worked against him. The context for the last statement wasn;t made, so it was clumsy same too the 80mph statement- I think what he was saying was "it was so smooth I didnt realize how fast I was going" I hear good things, alot of the concepts make sense. But I think my 09 is the last bike I will buy. It's good, it's paid for and will outlast me. Mike |

I just read the article and point one was: "It’s also cooler, partly because the exhaust pipes have been tucked farther away from the rider’s legs, and partly because the catalytic converter has been moved."
So as you can see, it stated it was moved, not removed. Sill, cruising at 80 in 4th... Tho I'm guessing thats an editing mistake as well. |
I think you're right, he probably meant 5th, not 4th.
