CVO Street Glide/LTD/Breakout
Why no M8 114 available in the CVO Breakout? The other two CVO products have it. Sure the Breakout isn't as heavy as the other two but HD could hide the radiator in the lower front of the frame behind the wheel. Painted black and no one would notice it all the while HD would have one mean, lean, riding machine for all of us to consider.
I do not know what the current sales mix numbers at HD are and I'm sure the CVO Breakout lags in comparison sales but why not offer up the new M8 114 in this bike? |
Mite be to much power for the lighter weight. Hell, what do I know
|
I don't know either, could it be that the frame is not long enough? Not sure of the Soft Tail frame is the same length and width as a Touring frame. I'm going to check it out, lol.
|
Ok, I just checked, the Touring bikes are a little longer and they have more ground clearance, maybe that's why they don't do the CVO BO in the M8 114. It could also be just the way HD has the production lines set up, M8s in touring this year, than add to the line for different models every other year.
|
Is this a joke? The m8 was just introduced a few months ago and like harley always does, it only starts with one model line(touring, dyna, softail). The softail will get the m8 next year as the dyna but there is some engineering needed to stuff the m8 in. Even the touring line is supposed to get a new frame in 2018.

Yes I agree 100% and well stated. Start with the most expensive bikes and then let the engines filter down to the less expensive ones is a common marketing tool. But if they allow for the M8 107 in the Breakout they'll almost be forced to allow for the M8 114 in the CVO Breakout version. If they didn't, there would be no difference between the two bikes.

possibly haven't finished the engineering on the "B" motor yet.

Always looking to design a better toothbrush too. Engineers have it made today that's for sure.
