Did you pull out that plastic tray that has the connectors on it (under the radio), and pull the hand control wires to the bar? They reach the riser when you do that and it takes just 5 minutes.

So I see what you mean about the tray. I take it there's some wire above it and you can flip your connectors to the back and buy 6"-7". Since I already extended mine, I'm not going to cut the zipties and take a look.

Last hi-jack. I'm very pleased with the bars. Still waiting on my mirrors and fairing plugs to show up, but it looks really good so far.

Yeah those are HIGH... ouch. I was thinking about the profile mirrors but went with the standard short stem tapers because I plan on mounting under the bars because I don't want anything above the fairing. You mounting above the bars?
As for color, I've always heard, and agree with, chrome bars w/black mirrors, or black bars w/chrome mirrors. |

Above. I saw another FLHX with the mirrors mounted under. Just looked weird. The curves of the ones I got seem to match the windshield, so it'll flow pretty nice. Not worried about them being above. At least until I catch a big bug with them and the splatter hits me in the face..... Are you worried they mirrors will hit the tank when you turn full lock?

Just bought new brake pads: EBC semi-sintered. I didn't want full-sintered because they're too grabby for my liking, as well as noisy and dusty. I will not be replacing the slide pin, unless someone convinces me I need to.
Picked up some Sil-Glyde lube and Brakleen while I was at it: Anything else I might be forgetting? |
