The V&H 4.5 slip ons are too quiet on my SGS for my liking. My wife thinks otherwise. Other than slip ons the bike is stock. I'm reluctant to change out the headpipe so I removed the packing from around the baffles. The exhaust sounds much better now. It's loud but tinny, there is no decel pop at all.

 

Follow up..
After one trip around the block decided that the sound was not what I wanted.
Packing went right back in again. It slips in and out very easily. This did prove that the back pressure provided by the packing can't be significant as the bike had no decel pop and ran great.
