VIN of the M8's w/ Engine Oil Pump problems
I am curious to know what the "VIN is on the 2017 M8 bikes that have had the Engine Oil Pump problems"?
I read somewhere that "supposedly" there was an Early Batch of Bad Engine Oil Pumps But, I have no actually spoken with my Dealer to verify this info.
I purchased my 2017 Road Glide Special in March & have about 500 miles on it so far, no Engine Oil Light has come on yet... Nothing abnormal that I can tell so far except, I do sometimes notice some kind of a noise at low speed But with all the echo that can go on from the Fairing and on back, I have Not been able to Isolate where the noise is coming from.
The last 8 of my VIN are: HB649429 - No Engine problems at this time.
Thank You

My bike was built 11/17/16 , no issues at all. From what I have read, the oil pump issues have been on the Twin Cooled bikes. But as of late, some guys are posting about problems but do not list what bike they have, so who knows. The most common issue with the oil cooled bikes has been the cooler hoses leaking.

I'm at 800 miles on my 107. She was built in March as well. No issues at all. While I have not found anything to prove my assumption, those failures were in early run bikes and I haven't seen alot about that issue since last year. It might not be a whole lot that was faulty, and I doubt the serial numbers of the failed bikes will tell you anything. It could have been a handful of pumps based on shotty workmanship, who knows. I will just ride mine and if the light comes on, take it in.

heard it was shoddy work on earlier productions.. metal shavings found in oil pumps, etc. mainly twin cooled bikes. mine is a 11/16 build with no problems other than an unusual front exhaust oxygen sensor code /check engine light that HD is currently looking at. I did have the V&H power duals installed. maybe something was left loose. other than that no problems.
