Default Big Louie smokes em

I have the BL's and like them a lot. I went with them because they are a lot cheaper than V&H and they sound better IMO. If you want louder you can easily swap out the baffles. The YouTube clips are accurate, just put on a decent headset when listening. This is the clip that sold me.

Just installed Thunderheader Slip-ons. This is on a stock bike including stock tune and head pipe with cats. Loud and proud but no popping! Turn up the volume for an oldschoolish th sound. I love the idle sound of it to.

Forward to the 6min mark.

Bought some Big Louie's for my 2012 103FL....I kid you not, after a 5 mile rest ride I could finally identify it- sounded exactly like someone farting into a pillow.

I removed them after 10 miles and promptly sold.

Had heard good about them but they sounded like complete ****.

I didn't like the way they sounded either. They have a very distinct sort of muffled tone from the drivers seat.

EXACTLY. Muffled. I even pulled into a parking lot and left the bike idle while I walked around it. I was shocked as I had heard good about them.

I of course couldn't return them so I took a little hit on the sale.

Also, they weld a little 'carry bar' inside the rear of the pipe to help carry the pipe when off the bike, issue is you then cannot remove and put in different baffles they sell. Never figured that out.

I have has BL on my 2011-2014 and a new set for my 2017 limited. I think they were the best pipes and sound that I have ever had on the 103. The carry bar as you say is used to remove baffle which I have twice when I decatted the head pipe and used the 2" baffle. Now for the video sound clip. That was for the 103 and not the M8 which sounds different. Sound is subjective to each person. I hate the sound of Rhineharts but that's me. If I was to decat my M8 then I would change baffles.

I have BL with 2.5" baffles on my HO103" 14 King, I love the sound.

I bought the big louies, had them delivered and my gut feeling kept saying don't open the box, I went outside and listened to my RCX's and took a ride, came back home and took the big louies to the UPS store and sent them back. I took a hit on return shipping and 10% restocking fee, dumb on my part I guess but I just had a weird feeling about opening that box.
