I don't doubt you or your skills or dealer. What you posted is a calibration number, not a part number. Same as the Street Tuner map calibrations, not part numbers. I have called 4 dealers in my area, and including stopping at my home dealer which I get along with well and have bought 6 new bikes there. NONE OF THEM have any clue to your calibration flash of the ECM. So that is why I am looking for PROOF! You may be correct, seen you posted that info on every forum know to man. If true, I would think a dealer should be able to advise us on what bikes need it or if there is a TSB on it. Better yet I would like to know what it changes within the map.

Just a question here. Can idle be manipulated through the ECM at all?

YES, the only place it can be manipulated on a EFI bike unless there is a adjustment plate at the Throttle bodies and that is only found on cable actuated bikes. On the 107, it definitely is done via ECU programming.

Is this what you are looking for: Technical Service Bulletin for Engine Idle Temperature Management System. M1436 is the Service Bulletin Number.

Your dealer can find it by looking on the company private website. It will tell what is being addressed in the bulletin and if a download is offered, it will give a link. They don't send out hard copies of bulletins anymore. The technicians or perhaps the shop foreman have to "look" for them on their website.

Thanks but I do not think so. Previous posters listed a "updated" ECM calibration that supposed to raise the idle speed. I would think the idle speed is different when in ETMS mode due to heat. From what I understand others saying is the ECM flash update version raises the idle under NORMAL operating temps. Just tryin to get to the bottom of this........clearly I don't understand something and the local dealers here don't either.

FWIW, I'm taking my 107 RK in for 1,000 service tomorrow and will share what they do in terms of updates. Its 850 rpm now.. Not sure on production date, but I picked it up Dec 2016.

My 2017 was built on 11/16/17 and it came out the door at 950rpm and is pretty rock steady there.

Street Tuner was updated in October.Raised rpm from 850 to 950.
It reads: Software enhancements:
Updated Calibrations A41000520A,A41000521A,and A41000522A to improve low engine speed stability.

Mine has had the flash. It idles at 950. I will take it out tomorrow and put it into ETMS mode and let you know what happens. I can say in the past like on my 2011,13 and 16 when in ETMS and rear cyl shut down. Idle speed dropped. From what I was told at the same time the AF stays they same adding some slight cooling.

Dropped off my RK for its 1K service. I asked about the firmware update to raise the idle. Service writer said, only if it had the stage one upgrade, which it doesnt? Does that make sense?
