I bet if they inspect the oil pump, it'll have some debris in it. They all do.

Looks like scissor gear drives the balancer and I believe we read that when the new motor came out. Wonder if the crank runout gets crazy how that scissor gear keeps up, especially at higher RPM. Perhaps a side load.

The Softails had a chain, so any crank runout was handled. Just an observation...

So it was done on a dyno run it was said.... Hmmmm is that why you always have to sign a form sayin they ain't responsible for whatever happens during the dyno run

I have to say. That is an impressive job of trashing an engine. The only ones I have ever seen worse were at the drag strip

I wonder if warranty will cover that? I'm being 100% serious.

If it WAS done on a dyno the dealer could easily deny warranty coverage. Fooling with the fuel etc on an M8 is the ultimate evil in 2017. So you have a double disclaimer since It was done on a dyno and the owner most likely had to sign one of those famous forms that all dyno guys make ya sign sayin they ain't responsible for what happens to your motor during the tests.

Would be nice to know what was behind it. Was it a totally stock motor on the dyno? Was it with a big bore kit? Who did the work? There is so much we don't know, it is kinda silly saying M8's are vulnerable on a dyno based on a pic someone pulled off the internet.

it probably had a trailer hitch installed....

joking of course.

I agree with nomad I'd really really like to know if the warranty applies in this case. Sure, being on a dyno its likely that something other than a screaming eagle tuner was getting used but that's an assumption at this point. If it was during a diagnostic run prior to tuning then it's still possible its covered.
