Congrats!!
I went from a 2015 Switchback to a 2017 RGU. You made the right decision.
As for the slow speed maneuvers, I recommend these books:
Proficient Motorcycling: The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well 2
by David L. Hough
Maximum Control: Mastering Your Heavyweight Bike
by Pat Hahn
Then take a riding course.

Congrats on the bike, training...training....and then more training! I don't care how long you've been riding or skill level, never turn down available training, you can always learn new riding skills. If slow speed turns are intimidating then you need to learn clutch/rear brake control, keeping power to the rear wheel will keep that big boy off of the pavement. Enjoy it and ride safe.
