when I checked mine around 650 miles, it was just touching the end of the dipstick. added about 5-6 ounces to full. thought it was the dealer not doing the pdi before sending it out. never heard of a trans ever using oil. ive had dirtbikes , quads, and 4 Harleys and they never used ANY oil unless it leaked out. there's no oil on my garage floor since I got it. so wheres it going ?

My 14 lost about half through the output bearing seal when the output bearing was going out. Brand new bike too.
Just looking at the bike you could see nothing, but once you got up under the front sprocket... oil everywhere, just not dripping. Guess the wind took most of it away.

Is it just me or is it really hard for others to see the transmission fluid on that shiny dipstick?
Every time I pull the stick to check the fluid I wonder to myself "what were they thinking with that shiny stick".
Hey, I have wondered why they do certain things for decades. Or, to put a finer point on it "why do they continue to do certain things for decades".

Mine was 6 oz low when it was 2 weeks off showroom... Just did 1K and switched to Bel-Ray 85W140... keeping an eye on it with 1235.0 miles now.

I am curious as to why you switched to a 140 wt. gear lube in the transmission. That is pretty heavy.

Kinda makes you wonder if the issue some are having with low oil is simply due to seeing the oil on the stick..
