Is this a serious post? The red line is on your tachometer. There's literally a red line there.

If you have just the speedo, like on the Road King, the only tach you have is in the little digital read out window with the gear position. It is a little digital readout of rpm's you get to by cycling the info button. No redline indication like on the SG and RG etc.

Unless you drop 299.00 and get this--(244 at Boardtracker)

My new 2018 Heritage does not have conventional tach where you can see the red line, It is purely a digital,

thanks for that part number. I did not know it would work in the 2018 Road King. Not sure I am ready to pay the piper but
I really miss the analog rpm readout. This part should be on the stock unit.

Interesting tidbit from reading the owners manual: The gear indicator is digital (of course) and is determined only by the
wheel speed and engine rpm. the brain has no idea what gear you are in, it just figures it out.

OP trust your rev limiter. just wrap it out until it kicks in. the answer as given above will be 5500 or less.

Soon as you hit it you will know with out a doubt. Tunes like Dyno jet will also show RPM , speed and a long list of other things.

FYI.. There are no dumb questions on the forums. Please don't ever feel that way. Some responses are abrasive, but everyone is here to help with their knowledge..

You are correct, there are no dumb questions on the forums, only dumb answers!

Wonder if you can have them install the https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...10-70900171--1 Speedo/tach in place of the stock unit by paying the difference in the price of the unit if you can get the original replaced under warranty???????

Would look great on my '18 114 Heritage Softail............

BTW, the Redline on my bike is now 6,400 RPM with the HD Torque Cam and SE reflash. Have hit it more than once......Top speed is still limited by the to 110-115 on the speedo however.............Also have hit it many times....

Right -- stock bike is about 5500, but if you've upgraded your bike with a Stage kit, it will raise the limit to 6400.

and if you buy the analog tach it shows a redline of 7500.

no engine mods needed, just buy a new tach.

(ok, I feel the need to say I am kidding. you guys do not always see my humor)

I've done over 120, so the top speed limiter must be able to be shut off.
