14" Apes on 2017 RK without extensions?
#11
I am also looking for Apes for my Road King S
Gloss Black 12"
just trying to figure out who to go with
Carlini evil apes 1st choice.. but also like the look of
KST Kustoms
Paul Yaffe
Factory 47
Just not sure if one bar is more comfortable than others or if one brands quality is leaps and bounds over the other etc..
Picking the right Apes seems like a tough choice.

FunnelCake Combo, as we stated above, Factory 47 bars are right up there for quality but are about 2" shorter then other makes bars advertised for the same size. Depending on what you go with they have a different spread, width, height, reach, pullback, etc. BaggerNation has a complete description of what this means to you as a rider and should help you when you ultimately chose the make/brand of bar you want. I read up on their site before deciding which bars I wanted. I was torn between the Yaffe Monkey Bars and the Factory 47 Bars, I went with the Yaffe Bras for price and immediate availability and never looked back. Here is the link for the description. Hope it helps.

You can still get bars. Heated grips a very easy to install, pretty much plug and play nowadays. If you do, look for bars with at least an 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" diameter if you want to run the wiring internal in the bars. If you planned on having someone install bars for you, they can swap out the heated grips at the same time and they shouldn't charge you any extra.

I put Road 6 Customs 13" on my road glide, and they BARLEY made it without extensions. Im guessing that different bars would have different actual lengths, but with 14's you are going to be cutting it VERY close.
Also, you may want to look at new Handlebar riser bushings. The stock ones will give you flex in the bars. Easier to put them on when installing the new bars.
