Default M8 stage 4 dyno

Thinking of doing the stage 4 on a m8 , that's with new rings etc . Has anyone had the stage 4 done and had it dynoed at the same time or put 500 miles to seat the rings before doing the dyno ?

I had my stage 4 done prior to delivery and the dealer said to ride atleast 500 miles prior to dyno. I'm goin to wait till the 1000 mile service and have them dyno it then. The canned map on the screaming eagle tuner seems pretty decent out of the box. So I'm just gonna ride it out... only 400 miles to go

The Dealer is going to break-in the stage 4 kit on the Dyno after it's installed so go ride it around for 500-1000 miles just like the Owners Manual states to do. Dyno break-ins are the safest and surest way to seat the rings as everything is under strict control of the Tuner that's doing the work.

A lot of pros and cons about when to Dyno, some say tune right away and others put miles on but if the tune isn't good enough for putting on the miles some say will hurt the motor??

I did a Stage 3 on my Ultra Limited, rode it for 1000 miles then brought it in for the 1000 mile service and install of the SE high flow exhaust system. Then a dyno tune on the whole package. Got very good results and interestingly the tech had recently completed a dyno tune on a Stage 4 (with Street Canons instead of the recommended high flow system) and the results were surprising in that the peak difference between the two set ups was only 4hp. I think they are going to offer my set up as an option to the full Stage 4. Good luck - either way you go you can't lose.
