Windshield for 2017 Street Glide (I'm 6'4)
Folks,
I'm debating between the Klock Werks 8 1/2" in dark smoke or the Harley 7 inch wind splitter. The wind with the stock windshield hits me in the middle of my face. Any tall guy recommendations out of those two. Does the Klock Werks fit well? Thanks for your input. |
I'm only 6' but I'd suggest you eliminate the wind from below the fairing before you start in on taller shields. Got my fangs from JES and they got rid of the turbulence then a 7" LRS Ultra took the excess wind away.

I never liked the Windsplitter, have a Memphis Shades recurve that really cuts the air. There is also air that comes up between the fairing and fuel tank that fork fangs stop.

I have a 10 inch windsplitter. I like it. Any shorter would be too low. In fact, I wish it was larger. I'm 6-4.
And yes - fork fangs. |
6'2" with a 7" wind splitter was Ok, better than stock, added soft crash bar covers for fall and spring riding. Noticed a lot of air that comes up between front of tank and fairing. Added fork "fangs" deflectors and was better, took care of air in front of tank.
Then I switched to a Klockwerks 8.5 dark smoke shield as I wanted more for long trips, rain etc. Thing with the KW flare is you don't want to look through it as it distorts your view. I can see over it at 6'2" with a low profile HD solo touring seat. The KW made the stereo clearer and less wind around the top of my head. |

6-3 and have LRS 12 inch. Hits me just below the nose. I love mine

I'm 6'1" and have a 32' inseam. It appears that the distance from your crotch to the top of your head is relevant to windshield height. The stock windshield on my RG was 8". I got a 12" LRS and it is just right. At 6'4" you may want a 14 or so. They recommend that you sit upright on your bike and have someone measure the distance from the bottom of the windshield to the middle of your upper lip (between your lip and nose). That was just right for me, with the fairing vents open. Good luck.

I'm 6'5" 300LBS I bought a LRS Ultra Elite 8" and I am very pleased with the performance so far. Addmittadly I only have about 40 miles on it, but it made a big difference in where the wind hit me. It looks really slick too.

6'4" LRS Ultra Elite 13". Works well and lets me hear the stereo at all reasonable speeds. I avoided the fangs because of the effect they have on engine cooling. Also I had my shield custom etched - the cost is reasonable and it turned out great.
