The threads are definitely different. My sensor went out and dealer didn't have proper fitting for his gauge so had a machine shop make one.

Interested in knowing when your sensor went out and if had any more problems

It is a Boss type with O ring. I will check size , don't want to guess and send some off with the wrong size. Should not be that big a deal to adapt it. It is a 1/2 by 20 thread.
Was able to remove it with a 1 inch box end wrench with out removing anything else on a RGU

Will be interested to know. I had just called my dealer this morning when they opened and had asked what thread it was. He thought it was a 1/4 20 pipe thread but wasn't sure. He also told me that he had spoken to a tech at MoCo last week and was told a possible gauge mod or update to current software might be in the works. Said customer service at factory is getting calls daily.

1/2 by 20 is what it is Boss straight. Anyone that has not used Boss they are O ring sealed. Do not install with a bad O ring do not over tighten.
It was a smart move by HD this type of fitting is made for oil and HYD. Much less likely to leak and less likely to damage case by over tightening like happens with pipe thread.
Now back to today's project. Installing bags on the 750 Street. Where the heck is that brown ups truck.

Well that makes better sense. I just assumed when service manager told me it was a 1/4 20 or 1/2 20 i thought he meant was pipe threads.

Boss straight threads if you look at the picture it looks smaller . Remember that sending unit is a 1 inch wrench to remove it.
Acquiring an adapter to go to pipe or what ever other thread you want is easy.

That hole is done with a -5 porting tool for 5/16" tubing. I machine those everyday.
Search 5/16" tubing o-ring boss fittings.

Been looking for fitting and am finding none. Problem is finding a tee that has the male and female ends with a take off on the side. All I'm finding have the required male end to screw into the motor, but the 2 remaining ends are both a flare. Possibly the easiest solution is an extension and just drill and tap the side for an 1/8npt for a gauge. Plus it gets away from the motor but getting the orientation right will vary from motor to motor. Without a bunch of cobbled up fittings, going to be a challenge
