Manual Oil Pressure Gauge For M8's
#51
I really don't know what would be needed to get the M8 bikes to display oil pressure. The MoCo included a note that said something would be available in the Parts & Accessories catalog when they released an update for the Boom audio system. A year and a half later still nothing. It doesn't really matter to me because my 14 FLHTK does show oil pressure and I'm in no rush to buy a M-8 bike.

2017 FLTRXS Homemade oil gauge.
If you want a cheap OP gauge, this is what I did. To the right of the OP sensor there is a 1/4 inch allen plug, It's tuff to get to, remove plastic cover from oil cooler, I filed a notch in the voltage regulator bracket to get a long allen in there. The plug is loctited in, it is pipe thread 3/8 I think, found a fitting with a 1/4 in hose barb, threaded it in and ran the hose to the crash bar, another 1/4 hose barb to an old air pressure gauge, couple hose clamps and VOILA! 50 lbs at cold idle! Too cold here to run it, but at least I know what I have. Cost? $00.00. Just temporary for now, don't know where I would mount a permanent gauge. I would get a digital gauge from flea bay and run the hose to the sending unit hidden somewhere, and just run the wires up to the gauge.

Nice1
I don't think I can do that on my 2017 FLTRXS, I just taped it to the right side fairing mount. All I have to do is lean forward a little and I can see it fine. No place to mount a gauge in my inner fairing, might have to mount a pod on the right side of my top vent, just under the wind shield. Cheers!
