Manual Oil Pressure Gauge For M8's

Has anyone come out with a manual oil pressure gauge kit for the M8's yet? You'd think someone would jump on this cause the factory sure seems to think we don't need one. Next thing the MOCO will do away with is the gas gauge. Just an idiot light saying you just ran out of gas and start walking.

I've been running a Google Search every week waiting for an Aftermarket company to offer one... I'm with you, would've thought they'd be available by now,,, especially since the MoCo deleted the Numerical readout to say "OK"

On my 2013, I bought the Optional In Fairing Oil Temp gauge that ran off a sending unit on the pan, because the HD LCD Dipstick leaked after riding 123 miles in the rain... I do have the newer HD LCD for the M8's only because I picked it up for $103 instead of the $149...so far so good. I keep the stock oil dipstick in the bag to switch out if needed... JES Custom Accents has a analog Oil Temp Dipstick Gauge for the 2017's for $135

Ever wonder why Moco deleted the oil pressure read out on the M8's. It sure wasn't to save money or because the owners were confused by a oil pressure reading as some of our well informed forum members have suggested.

Really is no need for one. But adding one is simple . The port for the gauge is easy to get at. You could even install a Tee and have both.

Here's the location on the M8.

Supposedly the M8 sending unit is different thread than the Twin Cams had,,, so those Tee's won't work, plus the rocker boxes are different too... so now what?

I'm sure someone could come up with a bushing/adapter to make up the difference.

What has never been answered is if you were actually able to thread in a TC sensor would the ECM/Radio display the pressure...

Harley did not invent a new thread to stop you from putting a oil gauge in. They put a test gauge in that spot to test it when the senor fails. Watched them do it on mine. May not have time this week. I will pull my sensor and find out that thread it has.
