Oil temperature on M8 SGS
Broke down and bought a digital oil temp/dipstick at the dealer the other day. I installed it after confirming in a pot of boiling water that it was within a couple of degrees of being correct if my assumption that water boils at about 204 at 4000 feet.......
Went for a short ride today for a couple of errands. After 25 miles, mostly at 70 mph, some stop/go, when I got to the store, oil in the tank was 240 degrees. I would say not bad for over 100 degrees ambient temperature. I have the fan assisted oil cooler, and I am assuming it helped a bit.
YMMV

MJ, did you install your oil cooler yourself or have it done at the shop?
