Default After market air cleaner with stock air flow ??

I'm looking into buying a 18 King if they have a Dark red. I have test drove them and for the fist time it had some good power right off the show room floor. I want to do slip-ons and be done with it, one problem for me, I "hate" the size and look of the stock air cleaner. I would like to buy a smaller after market cleaner, and find a way to slow down the air intake close to stock. Off the top of my head maybe a rain sock over the filter inside the cleaner would cut the flow down so I don't have to re-tune the bike. What say you ???

just buy the SE Hi Flow and over oil the crap out of it by submerging and soaking it overnight and let it dry out for a week ...DOH!

I've seen guys create restrictor plates for older carb'd bikes when they mod the exhaust and don't care to re-jet. Just cut out a block off plate the same size as your intake manifold and drill holes in it until desired flow is achieved. I'm sure you could do something similar, if you're dead set on the idea.

My understanding has always been slip on only no tuner needed, add increased air flow with the slip on , then I would need to buy a tuner. So am I wrong ?
