2017 streetglide special. Oil level is 3 dots down hot. 3000 mi on bike. It seems like every trip that the oil is down another dot. Looked in air cleaner and there is oil in it. This is where the oil is going.my 103 i could keep oil at full hot mark and it wouldn't use any oil. Thought harley had the oil issues figured out. What would be the cause of this and how do you fix it. Thanks. Dennis

 

Don't top off the oil next time and let it eat until it stops.
You'll probably find that the oil level will stop around the mid way mark on the dip stick. That's fine; don't add any oil above that.

Pretty typical for these engines to eat/blow oil for the first 5-10K miles.

 

Mostly likely over filling the oil.

Check the oil level on a cold motor with the bike on the jiffy stand. According to the M8 Touring Service Manual page 2-15 "Oil level on a cold engine should never be past the midway point".
