Just bought a 17 SG and wanted to get smoked lens for the turn signals.
I was told at the dealer that I "had" to replace them with led lights. at the tune of several hundred dollars, not just the bulbs and lens. Is this the case or is there a workaround to this problem?????

 

i call bs, but i do not have a 17. this says it fits 17 street glide

call custom dynamics, they will answer your question and if leds are required, will sell you a far superior product

 

If you just want the lens just replace the lens. I've seen them 4 for $10 online.

 

You can go back with smoked lenses and amber bulbs. Even Harley sells a basic smoke conversion kit at twice what it's really worth. https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...ignal-lens-kit Literally hundreds of options out there. Dealers,,, I'm surprised they don't get shot up all the time.....

 

On my 2017 and 2016 I did the smoked lenses at $9.95 per set @ H-D then I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts and bought one set of amber 1157 LEDs for the front and one set of red 1157 LEDs for the rear for $19 per set.

 

Total horse s#@t, like another guy said here, you can buy the lenses in clear, red, or smoke for cheap. You may want to consider the LED's at least for the rear, not the HD version though, go with custom dynamics. It makes a HUGE difference in visibility, its the first thing I did to my new SGS front and rear.

 

To the OP, If what you stated is accurate, first thing you need to do is find a different - honest - dealer.

Do you have any issues with hyper flashing or a service light coming on?
