Weird idle after bike gets hot

Went on a ride the other day, bike got nice and hot, came home, pulled up to the shed, left the bike in neutral to open the door. Noticed it had this funky sounding idle. Almost like it was in parade mode. Hit the throttle and it stops. Once it gets back to idle rpm it does it again.. Noticed it today after a long ride.. Bike runs fine, no lights. It has a little over 800 miles on it. It has the dealer stage 1 tune on it. Taking it in for the 1 k service in a couple weeks. Is this normal or do I need to have them look into it?

you basically described EITMS being enabled but you would have noticed that within 800 miles I'm guessing as it comes on in less than real hot temps...Idle was bumped from 850 to 950 with the S1..EITMS ramps the idle up a bit higher, 950 to ~1000 ish

Ok I'm confused lol

EITMS stands for engine idle temperature management system. It shuts the back cylinder off above a very temp to cool engine. It's explained in your manual came in bike.

The first time mine kicked in it surprised me,Sounds like the bike is going to die.popped the throttle and it stopped, then i realized it was the EITMS.

Its the modern version of parade mode.It comes on often when outside air temp is above 80f

You would think OP would know what EITMS is and does since he's been a member on this forum since 2008.Maybe not.
