Raspy? Does it pop on decal? Does that sound like it's running a little richer now?

No it doesn't pop. Just kind of a louder noise. Maybe compares to slighter quieter than Jake brakes on a deisel truck.

I think a lot of what hurts the M8 sound is that it is pretty much a 2 into 1. Block off each pipe at idle and it is a drastic difference.

I did the complete SE Stage 1 with Street Cannons on my M8 Tri Glide. I've put over 1,000 miles on them now. I really think they have q good mix of sound and quietness. To me they are great for touring. If you try looking through the stock mufflers you'll see they have some restriction in the middle. The Street Cannons are a straight through design I have the short slash end caps, so it's like no end cap at all.

Went through a fair amount of pipes on my '07, wasn't going to do that with this one. Test rode a RGU with Street Cannons and liked the quieter sound (quieter than the V&H MO's I had on the '07). Took a 2500 mile trip and like them even more. Wouldn't say they are louder after 2500, but deeper.

In regard to the decel 'splatter' sound. Glasspack's are a good comparison.

Over the past few years it has occurred to me that the best sounding bikes had become the quieter ones. I had Jackpots on my last ride, current bike has SE. at times the Jackpots would get on my ears, these SE are just right.

When I bought mine, right at 1000 miles now, I listened to stock vs street cannons, and luckily they had a bike with S&S slip ons. To me, the S&S had a deeper sound that the street cannons. My bike had the street cannons on it, so they put the stocks back on, ordered the black S&S and a week later got them put on. I love the sound when cycling through the gears. Even normal cruising sounds decent. Idle to me is too quiet though. Everyone has their own preferences to how they like their bikes to sound. I like a bit more rumble in all situations.

Did you lose any torque with the Street Cannons?

I have Street Cannons on my 2107 SG CVO. Yes they do not sound as full as the 103 2 value engine of 2014 SG with the Street Cannons. The reason being the 4 value setup. They do however have nice sound under acceleration. If you do long trips, like I do, you will come to love how they quiet out when cruising.

I hope that a comapany like Fullsac develops some new baffles for the SE Street Cannons. The sound is not quite what I'm looking for, but I hate to buy another exhaust. A baffel mod would be more economical. If no one develops a way to modify them, I predict the forums and CL will be inundated with them in a couple years. As it will be with all the SE stuff for the M8s.
