M8 Screaming Eagle Street Cannons

Why is this so hard for folks to understand?
If you buy HD's way over priced complete exhaust system with a open head pipe it has the cats in the slips. And the pipe size and connection is not standard. Thus the head pipe and other slips are not interchangeable.
So if you want HD's slips and a catless headpipe buy a jackpot. The hell with the term head pipe. Jackpot header, a V&H, or anybody else's catless header for the M8.

I listened to the only one that said yes that matters and they were right..seems the MOCO actually does know a thing or two about the engines they build..imagine that

I never really liked the Cannon's. I thought they sounded to bright, but was tolerable until I put the Jackpot header on, which made them louder and increased the sound I didn't like to begin with.
From what I am hearing, the 4.5" pipes really make a big difference. Mine now has a nice low rumble, and adding the cam gives it a nice lope at idle.

Op: I just ordered the KN HD 1717 filter from Amazon, and the SE Street Tuner from Surdyke.
I should have also mentioned, that my M8 has a slight ping under acceleration. I'm running top tier 91 Octane with 10% corn. It has always done it, but does seem worse with the Street Canons. Of course, at my 1k service, the dealer claimed "could not duplicate".
Maybe the tuner will help???

After hitting 500 miles on my new Road King I was delighted to arrive home with my new Street Cannons on the porch. So, despite a garage temperature of 85 degrees, I accepted the challenge to rid my new Road King of the Prius exhaust.
The install was fairly easy except for the dang end piece bolt clips. WTF...why were they pre installed in the wrong locations? They were a PITA to remove and relocate.
Anyhow..
I took a short test ride:
- idle has a better rumble than stock
- at speed...say 3,500 RPMs...they sound like the OEM mufflers
- accelerating they are a loud raspy sound
- de-accelerating is when they sound the best...kind of a loud raspy sound
Maybe they'll sound better as they break in. Otherwise...after another 500 miles...f--k the warranty and I'll put on something better sounding.
So...if you are looking for that Harley sound..these aren't it!!
YMMV.
