Noise on cold startups
Hi everyone.
This is my first post, Leonardo from Brazil here. Just bought a 2017 Special, amazing bike, it's my seventh harley. Bike runs great, it has about 440 miles in one week. I'm being careful with the break in procedure. The only thing strange that previous bikes didn't show is a loud whining at cold startup. Seems to come from the valves and it quiets down as the oil circulates and the bike gets warm. When the bike gets warm engine gets quiet at starts. So, anyone with the Milwaukee Eight has the same behavior with the engine? Thanks!

If, your bike for whatever reason got shipped with the incorrect weight oil this could be a cause. Extreme cold weather calls for a lighter weight oil, extreme heat climates call for a heavier weight oil.
Not sure the climate in your area but if it were me, I'd run just 20-50 in all three holes and see if that clears it up. Sounds like the oil is taking time to heat up and make the friction go away which is a sign of to heavy weight of an oil.
Just my 2 cents, I'm probably wrong I would start there. Also, check the oil level if you haven't already done so.
